Our boosted fundraising campaign to get ten great shows, including two of our own, to New York's La Mama theatre, is in its final push over the next week. This tour will allow Binge to perform internationally for the first time, at an amazing venue. We've had a great response so far, with over 70 donors. If you'd like to contribute, now is the time to do it. Any amount helps, from $5 to $5000. The website is here.
God Belly, co-directed by our Simon, hits BATS from Tuesday 30th. "French abbey and a student flat in 21st century Auckland. Catherine, a subversive nun, and Jude, a B.A. student, hunger for salvation in worlds apart, but as they push their bodies to breaking point, their worlds begin to collapse on one another." Booking and info is here on the BATS website. Mark Amery has done a cool write-up of our Unauthorised Te Papa Audio Tour in his column over at the Big Idea. "William Kentridge? Pah! The most stimulating piece of art in Wellington right now is Binge Culture Collective’s Unauthorised Audio Tour of Te Papa, available to anyone with a wifi connected or MP3 playing device. Written and narrated by Joel Baxendale and Ralph Upton, you don headphones in the museum foyer for a trip that increases your awareness not of the museum’s objects, but of the social space that surrounds them." Read more. We're doing some performances of For Your Future Guidance soon, more details shortly!
