Dear Vibrant Gems of our Creative Community,

Scratch Nacht is joining forces with NZ Fringe Festival to bring you not one but TWO Scratch Nacht's - meow! We are creating unique spaces for your wonderful old off-cuts and bright new dreams to see the light of day - err dark of night - during Fringe. Our Fringe event last year was a huge success with over 150 guests, 20 acts, 3 live bands and 2 noise complaints - so don’t miss out on our next wild nacht! We're open to any and all performances, so feel free to spread the word wide and far!

Voice your excitement and deep interest or mild curiosity and half baked ideas by sending an email to scratchnightnz@gmail.com with your idea and preferred date (do it soon and definitely before Wed 10 Feb). Please don't hit reply on this thread we don't all need to know that you're interested, lets keep the mystery alive.

Common and awesome FAQ's:

Where is it?
Venues are secret for now. Each venue will have a Main Stage and
smaller rooms, corridors, nooks and crannies for installations, roaming characters etc. (Ask for more info if you require specific specs).

What time is it? The two separate events will consist of a Scratch Noon from 4ish - 10ish (followed by an after party) and a Scratch Nacht from 7ish - late. Details are still being confirmed but we will let you know ASAP.

What is a Scratch Nacht? It's a Scratch Night that is off-the-chain. A celebratory night where performance and art fills a whole building until it explodes into a dance party.

What is a Scratch Night? Scratch Nights are highly successful form that exist as spaces where artists are invited to contribute short works that set explorations into strange new performance territory. Designed to give artists the opportunity to test out their riskier ideas free from the 'bottom line' of a traditional performance venture, you, the artist are free to perform the most bold, bizarre and daring works presentable.

What should I do? Read the pretty blue thing below for ideas.

How do I find people to make work with? Scratch Nacht are passionate about fostering collaborative and multidisciplinary work, so please let us know if you would like help finding collaborators or if you would like an introduction to that artist crush you've been harbouring.

How can I get involved without performing? Contact us, tell us what you like doing. We have plenty of jobs that need done, especially on the event day.

How do I get in touch? Contact us by sending a separate email before Wed 10 Feb to register interest. If you are unsure about your idea you are better to contact us sooner rather than later. This way we can talk out the idea and figure out how to make it work.

We can't wait for your ideas,

Team Scratch
