Unauthorised Audio Tours

These are independent audio tours that offer an alternative take on familiar spaces.
Something like site specific theatrical podcasts.

They are solo-experiences to be enjoyed anytime using your smart phone or other device
... just not from the comfort of your own home.

Audio Tour 6:  Scene/Heard

Frustrated that your lived experience lacks a beginning, a middle and an end? Let Binge Culture frame your view, and give you a cinematic soundscape to help process the scene.

Putting the “yeu" in “voyeurism” and the “IN” in “cinema”, this work transforms a public park into a short film, creating bold narratives out of seemingly random events. It’s people-watching as a cultural event - a curious, public, cinematic-intervention.

Created by Joel Baxendale and Oliver Devlin

Currently only available at theatres.

Audio Tour 1: Te Papa Walkthrough Levels 4, 5, and 6

Please note: Te Papa has changed its exhibitions and layouts to an extent that means this tour is no longer workable in the museum. You can still download and listen if you like.

We reimagined the national museum as game to be clocked and made an in depth exploration of pretty much everything except the exhibitions.

This was a forty minute audio tour that you could do any time that Te Papa was open.

Just watch out for the red-shirts...

Written and performed by Ralph Upton and Joel Baxendale
Production and sound design by Gareth Hobbs.
